Balloon decorations and balloon popping

Festive and special occasions can be a great excuse to use decorating styles for around the house. It gives you a chance to be creative as well as giving your home a great look as well.

A lot of people love nothing more than to keep their house prim and proper and to keep the decorating of the house up to standard. It seems that people are spending more and more each year decorating their homes in order to make them look as good as possible. Decorating the house is one thing but then there are special occasions or festive periods where people like to add extra decorations to their house in order to get into the spirit of the occasion.

Are You Stuck For Ideas Over Halloween Or Any Other Occasions?

Halloween comes once a year and no matter how much you try to run away from the fact – it happens. A lot of people see it has harmless fun and they like to join in by decorating their house and even hosting Halloween parties. To do this, they turn their house into a Halloween spectacular using pumpkins, broomsticks and anything that is remotely to do with Halloween.

A lot of people like to be the best so they spend a fortune on trying to make their display as great as possible. There is no set ways for how to decorate your house over Halloween so it is all down to how big your budget is and what your personal tastes are.

Other occasions where people decorate their houses especially for include thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. As well as the national holidays, people like to add extra decorations for birthdays, anniversaries and even Valentines Day to show loved ones that they care.

What Should You Consider When Decorating For Special Occasions?

It depends on the occasion when it comes to decorating your home. If it is someones birthday, you will want to decorate it to help them celebrate their day in fashion. Using confetti, banners, balloons and maybe using spray paint can help to add style.

For an anniversary or romantic special occasion, this will need to be a bit more thought out. It could involve painting a room or adding extra features to help make it more romantic. If you do paint a certain room, make sure it is something that the other person would like if it is being done as a surprise. Otherwise it could make the day not as special as you would have liked it to have been.

It is all a matter of personal taste on how to decorate the house, but if you look in decorating magazines or on the internet, it may give you some inspiration.

  • I sell fireworks myself. Don't overdo it. You want the customers to see fireworks and not everything else. Yes, a good gimic for them to remember you by and to pull them in but once they are there, you want them to forget everything but your items.

I advertise in the paper with a nice sized ad, I put up flyers all over the city, I have a drawing for $150 worth of fireworks (you get one entry per every $10 they buy), I have a bubble machine during the day and a police beacon light up at night. Other than that, no more. Customers do not want to be overwhelmed.

It is still early. We are doing great and it is only day 6. Business will only get better.

How is your selection of fireworks? Do you have a nice selection and have it arranged in a specific order? I have at least 10 kinds of roman candles, over 25 novelty items, 8 sizes of family packs/bags, over 15 kinds of artillery, etc. I have all of the fountains grouped together, the novelty together, etc. It makes it easier for people to find what they need.

Do you have good hours? I open from noon-9 p.m. on Sundays, Monday-Thursday I am open from 10 a.m.-10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday I am open from 8 a.m.-1 a.m.

Are your prices reasonable and competitive? Have you visited some stands in the area and checked to see if you are too high? If so, consumers will go elsewhere for the best price. Go for quantity on the sales. Price your items to sell and still make a profit.

    I hope this helps.

  • @garciajennifer223 Don’t use any greaseing the cope of the pan.

  • those toy rubber balls from Walmart

  • i love your video.. It saves money. Economical.. thanks for posting all your videos.. I learn a lot. Thank you also for sharing your techniques.

  • I use 8 in. cake pans. Every time I bake a cake, the cake ends up about 1.5/2 inches tall on the edges and has a huge mountainous hump in the middle (that usually cracks also). So when I cut my cake to level it off, it seems that just about half of the cake is wasted. Not to mention, the edges are crispy right at the top, instead of soft like the rest of the cake I’m excited to try this method to combat that. Is that what this method is for?? Or am I doing something else wrong?

  • Ok I get that the towel is acting as an insulator so the sides and middle of the cake cook at the same time, but does it work on a pyrex pan?

  • jpro:

Do you change the baking time when using towel bands? It seems it would take longer?

  • volley ball with water balloons is fun at the max… and don't forget the fixings for s'mores.. ohhh and how about popcorn popped over the campfire as they sit telling scary stories at midnight??

sounds like a blast.. can I come if I promise to watch from the parents hideout?

    Good Luck

  • I tried this method and it works I’m very happy. I also prepared my pans with the mixture of veg oil, shortng, and flour and om goodness that works. Thank you Sandy. You make baking so much fun. ;-)

  • Ritalucas is right about why the toweling works.

I used to use this method, but discovered, that I could bake my cake at a very low temp (250) for a longer time and my cakes came out flat, without a sacrifice to cake quality.

  • i use wax paper on baking.. are you using non stick bake pans or just applying the pan grease will do?

    thanks!

  • cute idea! this is what i did for my 10th birthday i think! what we did was we went to the dollar store and bought about 30 hula skirts! and each friend got one but we had about 10 left over so we just cut the elastic and made it into a table skirt! and OMG those cakes are just so priceless! the sandal one is sooo cute but the hula one i just SWOONED over! so gorgeous but it looks like a LOT of work! :)
the games sound perfect for 9 year olds and i think that they will have a lot of fun! and for party favors also include maybe a lei or something and you can fill the tiki cup (if you dont want it anymore) with candy and then put it in the loot bag! :) another fun activity i did was we decorated sandals! we just bought some at the dollarstore and colored them haha it gave us something to do!
anyways good luck and i hope that your daughter has a great 9th birthday party! and from the looks of it i think she will!
